Poster, Macroecology and Biogeography 2023, SWO-Tagungszentrum, Campus: 2023-05-04 - 2023-05-05
Abstract:
Big continental islands are often unexplored in the large-scale in comparison with small oceanic islands due to funding and temporal limits of the research. This thesis aims to determine possible gaps in biodiversity knowledge for these islands using statistical analysis. Major external drivers of outstanding and low diversity such as petrography, topography, climatological influences, and geographical factors are included, identifying those islands which deviate from expectations. Future studies can focus on finding the hypothesized species and save precious time.
