Gesche Blume-Werry

I am interested in community responses to global change and enjoy studying ecosystems where species withstand especially harsh conditions, e.g. arctic and alpine regions. Currently, I am studying the coupling of above- and belowground patterns (i.e. fine root dynamics) in different plant communities along an altitudinal gradient.
In the future, I would like to continue working with above- and belowground processes, discover more about the special role of disturbances or look at winter climate change.
